3D Studio Max

3D Modeling, Light Studies, and Material Studies

Although most of the models in this portfolio have been constructed in 3D Studio Max, the software may be for other purposes.

The first 3 to the right show the model of the Cornell-Technion Campus at three different times of the day in mid-June. Because the 3D Studio Max model was constructed upon an accurate geo-located AutoCAD survey, it may be used to study how sunlight and shadow will move across the site. This can be useful in selecting plant material and in prediciting snow-melt rates througout the site.

The remaining images show how 3D Studio Max might be used in material selection. Existing Sketchup models may be envisioned as they would appear in real life. Landscape elements may be envisioned using polished stone, glass, concrete, etc.
